A man is in custody after he barricaded himself in a Chesterfield home, according to police.
Chesterfield police say, what started as a domestic dispute got out of control. 42-year-old Frank Clement allegedly pulled a gun while arguing with a woman inside his home in the 9900 block of Post Horn Road, off Centralia Road.
According to Chesterfield police, the woman was able to leave with her two small children but Clement refused to leave. After a two-and-a-half hour stand off, police say they used a "method of distraction."
While police won't elaborate on what that method is, neighbor Rudy Jones said he heard the whole thing.
"I was sitting on my back porch and I heard two distinct noises. Psh! Psh! What sounded like possibly tear gas being shot through the window," said Jones.
After that, Clement gave himself up peacefully and no one was hurt.
Clement now faces felony possession of a weapon by a convicted felon and brandishing a firearm. He'll remain in the county jail pending his court date on September 3.
