Reward offered in missing woman case

Posted: Updated:
CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) -

They have searched for her in the water, from the air, and on all the rural roads in Lunenburg County. They've passed out flyers and after all that, there have been hardly any clues about where Virginia Edmonds might be.

"We don't know what direction she went," said Sheriff Arthur Townsend Jr. with the Lunenburg County Sheriff's office. "I mean when she went home, she was seen by her sons and her grandsons and she hasn't been seen since."

Her family says they know something is wrong. They say Virginia has undiagnosed dementia- that she always comes home and would definitely check in with family.

"She was set in her ways in that she had a routine that she followed," said Virginia's son, Rodney Edmonds. "And she would not deviate from that."

Not to mention, Rodney Edmonds says he can see her bank activity- that she hasn't' gotten any money since she went missing more than two months ago.

Virginia's family says there have been rumors all over social media that her car has been found. But, that simply isn't true. And they really need the community to keep an eye out to help find her. Still, investigators admit, it is strange the car hasn't been found.

"Normally, one would think that the car would be found by now," said Townsend. "But we haven't found anything since Ms. Edmonds went missing."

With each passing day, and no answers, family members say the wait gets harder.
