Chesterfield leaders are working on how to regulate backyard chickens in more popular residential areas of the county.
According to the Richmond Times-Dispatch, supervisors got the ball rolling on this topic Wednesday night.
Currently if you want backyard chickens, residents must apply for a conditional-use permit. The paper reports that some leaders want an amendment passed so supervisors don't have to constantly decide backyard chicken permits on a case-by-case basis.
