BALTIMORE, MD (WWBT) -

New details are coming in on a deadly crash in Maryland that killed three people Tuesday afternoon.

Two of the three victims were the daughter and granddaughter of a Virginia sheriff.

Bethany Dempsey and her 14-year-old daughter Lauren White were the daughter and granddaughter of King George County sheriff Steve Dempsey.

The two were killed when the car they were in was hit from behind by a flatbed truck.

Dempsey and White were from Warsaw.

Police say the truck driver didn't slow down at a traffic signal along Route 3 in Millersville, Maryland.

Dempsey and White were headed to the Baltimore-Washington International Airport to pick up other family members coming home from summer vacation.

Five other vehicles were involved in the accident.

No word yet on whether charges will be filed against the truck driver.

Abigail Cullen was also killed in that accident. She was 7 years old. Cullen was a passenger in the same car with Dempsey and White.
