Suspect in custody after pursuit in Richmond

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

Richmond police arrested a man after a pursuit in a south Richmond neighborhood.

It happened in the 5600 block of Limestone Drive when police spotted the man, who they believed was armed. When police tried to take him into custody, he took off into his home. Police kicked in the door and the man fled out the back, but ultimately surrendered.

"He was scared, heart beating and stuff like that," said Elias Roberts, the suspect's brother. "But, I told him that it's going to be okay. You know, my prayers are with him and he turned himself in."

The case is still under investigation. Police aren't releasing the suspect's identity or the nature of the arrest warrant. However, we're told more charges could be on the way.
