Diabetes is a big problem but there are warning signs that you can look for now to prevent the problem down the road.

Dr. John Clay in the Tri-cites is treating pre-diabetes.
It occurs where blood sugars are above the normal range.
Many patients with above normal glucose levels progress onto diabetes and aggressive intervention is necessary.
Dr. Clay suggests weight loss, exercise, education on appropriate diet and often medication are needed to curb the problem.
