Flies on the food. That was the problem at a Chinese restaurant in Chesterfield during its health inspection. The good news is that when the inspector went back, the problem was gone.
It happened at Lucky Chinese Restaurant, 10841 Hull Street Road in Chesterfield. The restaurant wasn't so lucky, it had 6 critical violations. Among them, the report says several flies were on the food and on the open pans of vegetables on the cookline. But a follow-up inspection two weeks later shows all problems were fixed, including the flies, for a perfect score.
In Richmond, On the Rox is a bar and grill in Shockoe Bottom, at 119 North 18th Street. It had 4 critical violations, including that the flattop grill had accumulations of grime and debris. One violation was corrected on the spot.
And China Kitchen at 9157 Atlee Road in Hanover, had 5 critical violations. The report says an employee handled foods without washing their hands or putting on gloves. Violations were corrected during the inspection.
