The majority of Virginians want New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg to drop his campaign against Virginia gun laws, according to a new poll.
In fact, 52 percent of Virginians polled by Quinnipiac University said the mayor should keep his nose out of Virginia issues. Only four percent say the state legislature should try to address the issue.
Bloomberg has long claimed that many guns used in New York crimes come from Virginia.
The poll also asked Virginians their opinion of Governor Bob McDonnell, and many people are divided. Forty-two percent say the governor is honest and trustworthy, while 41 percent say he is not.
The university conducts these types of polls throughout the country as a public service and for research.
