CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) - All lanes are back open on Interstate 295 in Chesterfield after crews finished cleaning up a chemical spill.
A box truck began leaking chlorine it was carrying while on the interstate near Route 10, just north of the Appomattox River Bridge, around 7:15 a.m.
The right and center lanes were closed to allow fire crews to handle the spill. There are no reported injuries.
Crews were able to contain the leak. A contractor cleaned the rest of the chlorine solution spilled inside the truck.
There was no danger to the public or the environment, according to Chesterfield Fire officials.
