A fire at the Harbor Village Apartments near Short Pump evacuated four apartments early Thursday, damaging part of the complex but causing no injuries.
The fire started just after 3:30 a.m. in the 2300 block of Shellfish Court. A family of three is now without a home, and the Red Cross is assisting.
"The fire took 20 minutes to get under control, and we're trying to minimize water damage to surrounding apartments," said Lt. Jackson Baynard of the Henrico County Division of Fire. "By 4:25 a.m. the blaze was under control."
Six people total have property damage and all residents are accounted for.
