Dozens packed a South Richmond street to remember a young 20-year-old man who was shot to death in broad daylight.
Lee was shot last week while driving down German School Road. His car then slammed into a nearby home.
Tears were shed at an emotional prayer vigil for the father and son.
"I couldn't believe it," said family friend Denise Smith. "I was shocked because I spoke with him earlier that day. He was getting ready to buy a vehicle."
That vehicle would end up mangled and hauled away on a wrecker.
"I have no feeling right now," said the victim's father Samuel Washington, Sr. "I'm just so distraught. I lost my twin."
Police say they arrested a possible suspect within 48 hours of the shooting. Kiara Williams is behind bars on unrelated charges that stem from a barricade situation off Labrook Drive.
"That person is in custody on unrelated charges," said Lt. James Laino with the Richmond Police Department. "But we know who our person is and we'll be moving forward on charges."
Lee's father is happy police have someone in custody.
"It means a great deal to me," said Washington. "I refused. I wasn't going to get any sleep knowing that my son's killer was still on the loose."
Family friends say Lee knew the likely suspect.
"So you know that's a shock to everybody," said Smith. "She was even on the t-shirts that we made."
Friends quickly drafted new shirts when they heard the disturbing news. Washington leaves behind a 2-year-old son.
Lee's mother says she is not angry. She says she feels sorry for the suspect and is praying she gets help.
