Suspect's attorney talks about Alexis Murphy case

The attorney for the prime suspect in the Alexis Murphy disappearance case said his client was innocent of abduction in an interview with NBC affiliate WVIR.
Michael Hallahan said his client, Randy Taylor, admitted to seeing the teen the day she disappeared, but that he watched her drive away with another man.

Hallahan, a Charlottesville-based lawyer, is the new court-appointed attorney for Taylor. He claimed Taylor, Murphy and another man were involved in a marijuana transaction at Taylor's camper. Taylor said he last saw Murphy, and the unidentified black male, drive away in separate cars.

Hallahan also revealed police told Taylor he was arrested because the FBI found a hair belonging to Alexis in his camper.

Taylor claims the other man is a black male, in his mid-to-late 20s with cornrows driving an old burgundy Caprice with 22-inch wheels.
Authorities have not commented on claims of a second man. Meanwhile, Alexis Murphy is still missing. Call the Nelson County Sheriff's Office at 434- 263- 7050 if you can help.
