Kidney stones can be a painful experience. In this week's Neighborhood Health Watch. We show you what to do if you encounter them.
Kidney stones are more common in the summer months because people tend to get dehydrated in the heat.
They usually pass on their own. Try and strain your urine through a paint or coffee filter to catch the stone if it passes. Your doctor can tell a lot from having the makeup of the stone tested.
The main symptom is the sudden onset of severe flank or groin pain that may also disappear suddenly.
