Police searching for Martin's robbery suspects

Posted: Updated:
RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

Richmond Police are currently looking over the surveillance video at a local grocery store after a Friday night robbery.

They are trying to track down two masked men they say stormed the Martin's in Bon Air- robbing the cashier at gun point!

A Bon Air community is rocked by a recent robbery leaving some Martin's staff members shook up and shoppers in disbelief.

Richmond Police say two men came inside the Martin's around 11:00 Friday night, an hour before close. Each wore a mask, hoodie, and gloves and demanded money from the cashier.

One even threatened the cashier with a hand gun according to police. Officers say that once they got the money, they ran away.

Shoppers like Nancy Detweilr aren't going to let this rare bout of crime scare her away.

"I'm not one to walk around afraid all of the time so I don't really think about fear that much," says Detweilr.

She's lived in Bon Air almost 25 years and shops here every week. Same goes for Jonathan Hall who can't remember the last time he's heard of any violence at the Stony Point Shopping Center.

"This is a nice neighborhood. We've never had any problems before," Hall says.

Police are still knee deep in their investigation looking over surveillance video. We'll be sure to provide you any updates we may receive.

If you have any information that could help lead to an arrest, call Crime Stoppers at 780-1000.
