(RNN) - Tampon, pad and other feminine hygiene product commercials are filled with every explanatory word except uterus or vagina - until now.
A company released a viral video featuring a loud-and-proud 12-year-old experiencing her first period that may change menstrual marketing forever. Hello Flo is a delivery service customers can sync with their menstruation cycle to have period care packages containing tampons, panty liners and even candy delivered every month.
Their latest commercial, Camp Gyno, throws normal feminine product commercial language right out the window, with the pre-teen describing the kits as "like Santa for your vagina."
The video has nearly 4 million views on YouTube, and while it has taken on taboos and made thousands scream with laughter, some are offended with the edgy humor.
"It was the beginning of summer, and no one knew me at camp," the 12-year-old says. "I was a just a big random loser. Then, things changed. I got my period. The red badge of courage!"
The pre-teen grabs a strong hold on her situation and steps up to give the other girls at camp advice, becoming popular as the self-identified "Camp Gyno" until Hello Flo boxes begin to arrive.
The packages provide Tampax Pearl and Always products. For $14 to $18 dollars a month, women can sit back, eat candy, and enjoy the thrill of not having to hide or self check-out at the store.
For those who haven't started their period yet, they now have "Starter Kits," so a girl has everything she'll need when that time decides to arrive. The kit includes, tampons, pads and liners and a Get Ready Guide for her and parents, as well as some other goodies.
"We can't change biology, but we can make your experience of your period easier," Hello Flo says on its site.
