RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Lauren Richardson is reminding her patients about the change in pap smears.
A pap smear screens for cervical cancer. About a year and a half ago, the guidelines were changed for cervical cancer screening.
The first pap should be at 21 years old. If your results are normal, a pap smear is recommended every three years until age 65.
A "well woman" physical exam is recommended every year.
