UPDATE: Car crashes into Chesterfield home

CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) -

Authorities are on the scene in Chesterfield, where a car crashed into a home.

The incident happened in the 7900 block of Halyard Terrace.

There is not a whole lot of damage to the house, but a mailbox next door was taken down.

We spoke to a man who was in the car.

He says his daughter was in the driver's seat  learning how drive stick shift when the car accidentally accelerated and took off the wrong way.

The family is a bit shaken up but not seriously injured.

Authorities say the teen did get a ticket.


Chesterfield Police are on the scene of a car into a house.

Dispatch tells us just after 3:30 p.m. Saturday they were called to 7900 block of Halyard Terrace for reports of a car into a home.

Jason Elmore with Chesterfield Fire tells us the driver was hurt in the crash, but right now we do not know the extent of his injuries.
