Police searching for South Richmond hit and run suspect

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - The Richmond Police Department needs the public's help for information about a vehicle that struck a pedestrian and left the scene early Saturday morning.

At approximately 1:11 a.m. Saturday, officers were called to the intersection of Walmsley Boulevard and Chesco Road for a report of an adult female who had been struck by a vehicle. The victim was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The Department's Crash Team is investigating, and detectives believe the suspect vehicle may be a full-sized pickup truck that is missing its right, outside mirror. The vehicle may possibly be gray in color.

Detectives are asking anyone with information about this incident to call Crime Stoppers at 780-1000 or text Crime Stoppers at 274637, using the key word "ITip" followed by your tip.
