A Richmond man is sentenced for firing a gun during a drug deal, injuring himself and another person.
Travis Burley, 26, was found guilty on April 25. He was charged with using, carrying, brandishing, and discharging a firearm during and in relation to a drug trafficking offense.
Prosecutors presented evidence to show that Burley met with a Spotsylvania man on July 11, 2012, at the Spotsylvania Town Center Mall to purchase marijuana. Burley then attempted to rob the other man at gunpoint.
During the fight, the gun was fired, hitting both Burley and the other man.
Burley will serve 120 months in prison, followed by two years of supervised release.
