Given the heat index this week, it is important to remember that even a short amount of time in extreme heat can cause significant fluid losses.
Those fluid losses can be compounded by exercise, caffeine and alcohol consumption.
If you must be outside, minimize time in direct sun and consume plenty of water. He suggest that you try to avoid caffeine and alcohol. He also says wearing light and reflective clothing may be helpful.
