Lightning sparks house fire in West End

HENRICO, VA (WWBT) -

Lightning from Wednesday night's storm sparked an attic fire in the 4900 block of Green Run Drive.

The first 911 calls started coming in for smoke and flames shooting through the roof.

Multiple neighbors spotted the strike around 7:30 p.m. and the smoke came about a half-hour later.

Nobody was home at the time of the fire, but the two adults who live there will be staying somewhere else tonight.

The house can be saved, but will need repairs.
