The family of a missing grandmother says they're not giving up hope that she is still alive.
73-year-old Virginia Edmonds of Lunenburg County was last seen leaving her home June 28th.
It was near the dinner hour when she drove off in her car and never came home.
Wednesday evening, an entire community came together to pray for her safe return. Dozens of people - friends and family have gathered. It was at the home where Edmonds raised her family. It's where she was last seen.
It's been nearly 2 weeks since Edmonds went missing. Her son Rodney Edmonds says he's been in contact with the authorities every day.
"It's been hard not knowing where she is, I'm just constantly thinking about it, you need some closure, I mean where is the car, nobody has seen the car, It's been really hard," said Rodney Edmonds.
Cousin Marytisdale Reese says she's known Edmonds all her life..
"Was hurted so hurted just hurted just was so sorry so hurt, I hope Virginia is somewhere safe and know to say, I'm coming home, because my children are worry to death," said Reese.
