All lanes back open after 15-car accident closes I-95 north in Richmond

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

All lanes are back open after a 15-car crash on Interstate 95 north caused traffic to back up for three miles in south Richmond.

Two people suffered injuries, but they are not life-threatening, according to State Police.

Drivers are encouraged to use Chippenham Parkway or Route 1 as alternate routes.

Police say the accident happened about 3:40 p.m. They are investigating and haven't given a cause or time for the area to be cleared.
