RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

Chesterfield Police have identified the kind of bullet that killed 7-year-old Brendon Mackey on the Fourth of July.

The bullet hit Mackey before the fireworks show at the Swift Creek Reservoir. Police say their ballistics investigation found the bullet is a .40-caliber class full metal jacket. It also showed that type of bullet most likely came from a gun manufactured by one of five companies, based on the markings found on the bullet. The list includes: Glock, Heckler & Koch, IMI, Kahr Arms, and Vektor pistols.

Brendon was hit by a bullet fired into the air, and then came back down, hitting his head.

Brendon's mom says there will be a viewing on Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the JT Morris and Son funeral home in Chester.

The funeral will be Friday at 1 p.m. at the Brandermill Church.
