Chesterfield Fire officials say a thorough search has found no evidence of a downed aircraft, despite a citizen's report.
Fire officials checked with the FAA and Richmond International Airport, who both said they had not received any reports of a plane in distress.
An extensive ground search also found no signs of a plane down.
A caller alerted authorities to a possible plane down between Interstates 85 and 95 shortly before 3 p.m., according to Chesterfield Fire officials.
