Suspected Staten Island shooter found in Richmond

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

A suspect in a Staten Island playground shooting is on his way back to New York, after being found right here in Richmond.

Investigators tracked down Kenneth Williams. He was found at his cousin's two-story apartment in Richmond.

The name of the apartment complex has not been released.

20-year-old Williams is a suspect in a shooting that happened on June 15 on a playground in New Brighton, New York.

Witnesses say around 50 teenagers were hanging around the park's basketball court when about five shots rang out.

A 14-year-old boy lost a kidney, suffered liver damage and other internal injuries. A 32-year-old woman who was inside a nearby home was shot in the arm.

Williams is expected to be arraigned on Friday. His brother was arrested last month in connection to this shooting. Police say his brother was the one who opened fire on the crowd of people.

It is not clear if Williams fired a gun or was an accomplice.
