HENRICO, VA (WWBT) -

A police chase starting in Eastern Henrico ends on Richmond's north side landing a 45-year-old woman in jail. Iris Taylor-Cobb now faces a long list of charges including DUI and possession of cocaine after investigators say she refused to stop when they approached her on the side of the road.

Neighbors say they knew something was happening when they first noticed a suspicious car followed by police activity.

Cutting grass and gardening - that's how one family spent Thursday afternoon outside of their home.

"You want to make sure that the neighborhood is safe," the concerned resident said.

It's why he's alarmed to hear what police say happened right down the road.

"I seen an officer come down flying down, going about 60, 70 mph," said Travell Noel.

Neighbors watched as officers approached Taylor-Cobb's car, after getting a call about suspicious activity. Witnesses say she started acting erratically. Police say she wouldn't stop. That's when the chase began.

"First they drove down here on Ralph Blvd. Then they made a u-turn and came back down," Noel described.

It started near the 2400 block of Allence Blvd. and ended on 24th and Burton in Richmond. Officers say that's when they uncovered cocaine & drug paraphernalia inside the car.

Neighbors are relieved the officer followed it through.

"I don't want anything that has to do with drugs near my house or drug paraphernalia…That's what we pay our taxes for. You pay the police so if something is going on wrong that they're doing their job," the concerned resident said.

Taylor-Cobb is charged with DUI, drug possession, eluding and driving on a suspended license.

"I was just hoping they find whoever was doing it," Noel added.

Police say no one was hurt during the chase.

People in the community will gather next Monday to exchange ideas on helping keep their neighborhood safe. The meeting will take place at the Eastern Henrico Recreation Center at 7:00 p.m. where an FBI agent is scheduled to attend.
