Ways to avoid food poisoning

CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) -

What you put in your body has both short term and long term effects. In this week's Neighborhood Health Watch we give you an example.

Sheila Clasbey has an example of a short term effect, food poisoning.

Symptoms include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain.

Remember good food handling is very important when prepping food so that you can avoid food poisoning. When preparing foods, remember to clean cutting boards, utensils and hands thoroughly with warm soapy water.

Most food poisoning is self-limited, just stay hydrated and wait it out.
