Earlier this week I went into the card store looking for a Father's Day card and I couldn't find one that really matched the sentiment I was seeking. Maybe you have been there yourself? As I continued to look with no success, I decided to try the blank card section and the answer presented itself. There it was a blank card with the Superman logo on the outside and it hit me that my dad has always been Superman.
Father's Day is that special day when we take the time to say thank you to our dads and granddads and to let them know how much we love them for being that special person in our lives. I don't know about you, but I love being a dad. Just hearing my adult daughters call me Daddy still reminds me of them when they were little girls.
If you didn't have a dad in your life, hopefully there is or was a male role model that you looked up to. And if there is someone, give him a call or a card on Father's day. If it's been a while since you and your dad have spoken, now is a great time to break that ice and start that relationship anew.
My dad was an everyday guy just like Clark Kent, but when I really needed him he was always Superman to me.
