Ex-Sheriff's deputy faces manslaughter charges in Powhatan crash

More information is surfacing about a deadly crash in Powhatan County involving a former Richmond's sheriff's deputy.

The Richmond Times-Dispatch is reporting that Jerry Middleton is now facing three manslaughter charges, and a DUI charge.

Police say he was driving with his three sisters on Route 60, when he ran off the road and hit a tree. His sisters died at the scene early last month.

Middleton has a history of DUI, and at one time worked for the Richmond Sheriff's Office. According to the paper, Middleton turned himself into police Wednesday afternoon.
