When the Washington Redskins head to Richmond for training camp in July, RGIII says he will be on the field.
"Without a doubt," said quarterback Robert Griffin III, when asked if he would be under the center on Day 1. "It's a mindset and how I've progressed. I feel a lot better. Training camp is two months away, and I feel good about that."
Head Coach Mike Shanahan was cautious, but optimistic.
"We'll have to wait and see," said Shanahan. "I like that goal."
RGIII is recovering from a partially torn ACL in his right knee. He had the surgery a few days after re-injuring his knee in a playoff game last season with the Seattle Seahawks - he initially injured it back in 2009.
The Redskins start their inaugural training camp at the Bon Secours Washington Redskins Training Center on July 25. The camp will last for 17 days and will be open to the public.
A special Fan Appreciation Day will be held on August 3.
