As we spend more time outdoors the threat of creepy crawlers ruining our day goes up.
We explain how to deal with insect bites in this week's Neighborhood Health Watch.
Dr. Patrick Woodward explains when an insect bite becomes a real problem.
Most insect bites cause mild discomfort and resolve without issue. Sometimes bites cause significant discomfort and infection.
Most bites can be treated initially with a topical analgesic like Benadryl cream and Neosporin to prevent infection.
But when a bite fails to improve, is getting larger, redder, or having discharge there is a good possibility it is infected. Additionally if you experience fever or body aches, it is a good idea to consult your family doctor.
