HANOVER, VA (WWBT) -

A Hanover pastor has been arrested. He is accused of embezzling from his own church.

The Hanover County Sheriff's Office confirms Chris Allen Phillips was arrested on an embezzlement charge and is involved in a very active and ongoing investigation.

The Richmond Times Dispatch reports Phillips is a pastor and is the man involved in an extortion case we first reported on earlier this month.

In that case, a Henrico woman, Tonya Farnsworth, is accused of extorting a hundred thousand dollars from a Hanover man after getting paid for oral sex.

Phillips is scheduled to be in court in early June.
