Group calls for investigation into Richmond Commonwealth Attorney's Office

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - A Richmond group has called for an investigation into the city's Commonwealth Attorney's office. Former City Councilman Marty Jewell, community advocate King Salim Khalfani and a private investigator, submitted a 350-page report to the chief judge in Richmond, last week.  The investigator, Perry Hicks, has created a website surrounding the allegations.

The group says the documents show criminal misconduct and injustice against poor defendants, on the part of prosecutors.

Richmond's Chief Commonwealth Attorney Mike Herring says the investigation isn't warranted, and doesn't believe any of the accusations.
