Construction could lead to a morning mess on Bailey Bridge Road that could impact three Chesterfield schools Monday morning.
This is at a stretch near Claypoint Road all the way to the Bayhill Point neighborhood, just past Manchester High School.
This traffic tie-up is all because of a paving and road widening project that will be underway from 7 a.m. until 9 p.m., from Monday until Friday. This will impact getting to Crenshaw Elementary, Bailey Bridge Middle School and Manchester High School.
VDOT tells us drivers could be going nowhere fast for 10 minutes at a time, as flaggers alternate traffic on one lane of Bailey Bridge Road.
Once the construction is done, parents, bus drivers, and students can look forward to new turn lanes into the schools and also bike lanes.
