Homicide investigation underway in North Richmond

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

Richmond Police are on the scene of a deadly shooting that occurred Sunday afternoon in the Northside.

According to a press release from Richmond Police, the initial call came in at 12:07 p.m. for a shooting in the 1600 block of Fendall Avenue. Once on scene, officers discovered a man, unresponsive on a grassy area near a home.

The male victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The Medical Examiner will now determine the exact cause of death.

Richmond Police told NBC12 a possible suspect was spotted by witnesses. That person, described only as a black male wearing a white T-shirt, was seen leaving the scene in a gold-colored vehicle, heading west on West Fells Street.
