NBC12 has received more information regarding an accident in western Virginia, where up to 60 people were hurt when a car drove into a parade crowd.
Washington County officials say it happened Saturday afternoon when a car crashed into a group of hikers walking in a parade in Damascus. Three of the victims were flown to the hospital.
Officials say the driver of the car may have had a medical emergency just before the accident.
The car reportedly drove more than a hundred feet through the crowd before stopping.
"We heard screams behind us and he sort of pushed us out of the way from it, and me and all of us we all looked back and saw... misery," said a witness at the scene.
The name and status of the driver has yet to be released. However, witnesses described the individual as an "elderly man."
