RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - A new study shows that the Richmond area is ranked 8th in the US as one of the better cities for recent college graduates. The report posted on creditdonkey.com took three factors in consideration when looking at the 50 largest urban cities. Unemployment rate for college graduates, local wage premium for a college degree, and cost of living, were all studied to compile the list of cities.
The study found that Richmond has a 2.4% unemployment rate for college graduates. The national unemployment rate for the US was 7.5% in April. The study also shows that college graduates make 69% more than people with high school diplomas.
College graduates looking for jobs in high tech, financial, and insurance industries will have an easy time finding work in this southeast city.
Indianapolis, Austin, and Dallas round out the top 3 in the study respectively.
