State Police identify motorcyclist killed in Dinwiddie crash

DINWIDDIE, VA (WWBT) -

State Police have identified a motorcyclist killed in a two vehicle crash in Dinwiddie County.

Shortly after 6:00 p.m. Friday, police responded to Boydton Plank Road near Ford Avenue after the driver of a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe failed to yield the right-of-way to the driver of a 2005 Harley Davidson Motorcycle.

The motorcyclist, 70 year old William V. Aleshin of McKenny, suffered serious life threatening injuries and was transported to Southside Regional Medical Center where he later died.

The driver of the Hyundai, 47 year old Robert L. Lawson Jr., and two passengers were not injured in the crash. Lawson was charged with reckless driving. 

The crash remains under investigation.
