A judge dismissed assault charges against a former Miss Virginia USA in court Thursday.
The alleged victim said he couldn't remember being assaulted by 26-year-old Nikki Poteet, even when reminded he was under oath. Prosecutors then said they did not have enough evidence to proceed with the case.
Poteet was arrested and charged with assault and battery in a domestic dispute March 18, shortly before 1 a.m. following a domestic dispute at her West Marshall Street residence.
Poteet was Miss Virginia USA 2011 and former Miss United States 2012. Poteet was asked to give up her Miss United States crown after she posted a photo on Facebook with the caption: Miss Alcoholic USA, according to Chris Wilbur, Director of the Miss United States Pageant Organization.
In November 2011, Poteet made headlines when her roommate accused her of making gay slurs.
