Two people were killed when a plane went down in Suffolk, Saturday afternoon.

The experimental craft crashed at approximately 1:01 p.m. near the Southside Trailer Park on Turlington Road, killing both men on board.

An initial report from a City of Suffolk spokesperson indicated the plane was heading to the Festival of Flight, about 3 miles from the crash site. However, Virginia State Police later said that was not the case.
