Windsor Farms community in Richmond targeted by crooks

Posted: Updated:
RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

People living in Richmond's Windsor Farms community are on edge after multiple home and car break-ins in the last 48 hours.

They happened on Queen Charlotte Road and Gun Club Road.

"People are worried," said resident Holly Aldridge. "People want to know what is going on."

Police say a thief broke into homes on Gun Club Road in broad open daylight.  A second suspect is accused of breaking into cars and taking anything in sight. Police hope to arrest that second suspect in a matter of days.

"We expect some closure probably over the course of the weekend," said Sgt. Chris Jernigan.

30-year-old Donald Moore was arrested and charged with breaking and entering.

"Windsor Farms has proven in the last couple of days to be a target rich environment," said Sgt. Chris Jernigan. "We need to change that."

Richmond Police have increase patrols of marked and unmarked cars in Windsor Farms.
