BUCKINGHAM, VA (WWBT) -

Police have arrested a man in connection with the stabbing death of his teenage girlfriend outside a grocery store in Buckingham.

Buckingham deputies found Artice Rose, 18, lying in the parking lot of the Farmer's Food store in Dillwyn around 11:15 p.m. Tuesday. She appeared to be several knife wounds and was taken to an area hospital. Despite emergency surgery, she died at 4:04 a.m. Wednesday.

Investigators named her boyfriend, Christopher Jerel Moseley, as a suspect and got warrants charging him with first degree murder. He was captured early Wednesday and is expected to be held without bond. The investigation is on-going and further details will be forthcoming.

"The dedication and professionalism exhibited by all reflects my commitment to the citizens of Buckingham in providing the best possible public safety," said Sheriff William G. Kidd Jr. "It is a sad day for us all and my thoughts and prayers go out to the Rose family."
