New push to save life of serial killer Anthony Sowell

New arguments have been filed to try to save the life of serial killer Anthony Sowell.

The court papers have been filed as part of his ongoing appeal with the State Supreme Court.

Sowell's appeal lawyers are still trying to show Sowell should not be executed because he didn't get a fair trial, and they argue killing him would serve no purpose.

They argue, "We know from his behavior in prison and the Marines that Sowell will pose no danger if he serves a life sentence. He need not be executed."

They go on to add that killing Sowell will not serve as a general deterrent or be a lesson to the public about what not to do.

Sowell is sitting on death row for killing 11 women. He kept the bodies in and around his home on Cleveland's east side. Police found the bodies in 2009, and Sowell was convicted in 2011.
