With victims still in Boston hospitals recovering from their injuries caused by Monday's bombing, a resounding chorus of Bruins fans sang the national anthem as their home team returned to the ice.
The hockey game was the first major sporting event since the Marathon in this devoted sports town. Despite heightened security fans packed the TD Garden. The Boston Fire Department Honor Guard presented the colors. Rene Rancourt began singing, then lowered his microphone as the crowd joined in an emotional sing-along for the still-reeling city.
