Henrico man arrested for taking photos up woman's skirt

HENRICO, VA (WWBT) -

A man is caught red-handed while taking indecent photos of a woman in a popular Henrico store. Police arrested 32-year-old Daniel Crews for taking the photos under a woman's skirt, without her knowing.

Henrico police say it happened Monday around 6:30pm at the Target on West Broad Street. Investigators say Crews and his alleged victim did not know each other.

"I guess it's the kind of thing that you expect to happen but the fact that it's happening here where I come a lot is kind of scary," said Target shopper Morgan Britt. "I definitely feel safer knowing he's not doing it anymore."

According to Henrico police, it was the keen eye of a loss prevention officer who saw Crews taking the photographs under the woman's skirt.

"The security officer was obviously doing his job," said shopper Angharad Waite.

Waite was surprised to hear what had allegedly happened at the busy store during peak hours. Despite the news, she won't be changing how she dresses or shops.

"With smartphones and everything, if it's going to happen it's going to happen. I'm not going to change the way I live," said Waite.

Crews' next court date is June 27. He could spend up to one year in jail if convicted.
