In a world where even asking an athlete or a celebrity to acknowledge your presence in a crowded room seems like a tall order, former Gamecocks defensive player Shaq Wilson definitely made one of his fans feel special Tuesday night thanks to the magic of social media.

Wilson. who is on Twitter under the name "Diesel_247", announced his Tuesday evening plans to his followers.

"It's a NBA2K, UFC, Madden, COD night maybe watch Weeds or Lost too," said Wilson.

One eager fan asked Wilson if he was willing to play a round of Madden 2012 with his young son, a fellow Gamecock fan.

Wilson responded and sent the fan his Xbox Live gamertag so the two could connect on the Internet.

While they were unable to connect for a game of Madden, Wilson and the fan's son did link up for a round or two of Call of Duty: Black Ops II.

"You just made my sons day man," responded the fan. "Thank you!! your [SP] the real deal man!!"

Wilson, a fifth-year senior, just finished his final season with the Gamecocks, and is hoping to be drafted in the upcoming NFL Draft.
