Ole Miss head coach Freeze delivers Easter message at Sherwood

Posted: Updated:

It's not often that you see a college football coach working on Easter Sunday but Sunday morning at Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany one of the SEC's newest and hottest coaches stopped by to deliver a different kind of message.

Ole Miss head coach Hugh Freeze was the guest speaker at Sunday morning's Easter service. Freeze said he was drawn to Sherwood because of its history in producing faith based movies which has influenced he and his family.

He says he planned on speaking to the congregation much like he speaks to his players and he has total respect for the vision of Sherwood and pastor Michael Catt

All the while hoping to reach those interested in seeing a football coach in the pulpit.

"I love talking about faith, my family and football and you'll get a mixture of all that today. That's really who I am and I'm really transparent with my faith and that certainly doesn't mean that I have it all together but I know the one who does so I get to share that today and coming maybe from a football coaches perspective may it comes across different to some than others," said Freeze.

Freeze will enter his second season at Ole Miss this fall.
