Richmond attempted armed robbery

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

It was a scary night for one Richmond man who got a knock on the door just before 9 p.m. Friday night, only to be confronted by a gunman.  Police believe it was an attempted robbery.

It happened at a home in the East View Gardens neighborhood, in the 1900 block of Wood St. in Richmond.

Police say the man opened the door to a female who asked if he sold marijuana.

A man with a ski mask appeared with a gun and tried to get into the home. However, the suspects ended up running away with nothing.

One neighbor told NBC12, "Normally like I said you don't see a lot of activity going on around here, it's quiet, we have neighborhood watches around here, that's why it kind of shocked me when you said what you said about what happened last night."

Police are still looking for both suspects.

If you have any information that can help police call Crime Stoppers at 780-1000. You can remain anonymous.
