Auburn Tigers return to the practice field

The Auburn Tigers returned to the practice field early Friday morning, conducting a two-hour non-contact workout in shorts at the Auburn Athletics Complex practice fields. Under sunny skies, Coach Gus Malzahn put the Tigers through a number of team and individual drills in their second practice day of the spring.

"We had another helmets-only practice. I feel like we improved as far as knowing what to expect and understanding the drills. Tomorrow will be a big judging thing for us as coaches, actually being in pads for the first time," Malzahn said after practice. "We'll get after it; it will be a very physical practice.

"They're getting used to the standard of how to practice, with the pace and intensity and everything that goes with that. Each practice the leaders should step up. They should echo the coaches' standards and we should have some leadership by the end of the spring."

Auburn moves to Jordan-Hare Stadium for Saturday morning practice, the Tigers' first workout in full pads this spring.

Auburn will conduct 14 spring practices before hosting A-Day on Saturday, April 20, scheduled for a 1 p.m. CT kickoff at Jordan-Hare Stadium.  View complete information for all the events surrounding A-Day and purchase tickets at AuburnTigers.com/aday
